The ParticipaTEEN project has been awarded funding under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV-2025-CHILD). The project brings together a transnational consortium of seven organisations from Hungary and Romania. The consortium is led by the Municipality of Újbuda (Budapest’s District XI), with the Child Opportunities Research Group participating in the work as a consortium partner. The project’s goal is to co-create effective, inclusive, systemic and sustainable mechanisms with teenagers that empower them to take an active role in shaping their communities.

Centralisation and the future of local self-government

In October 2025, Márta Kiss was an invited participant at the conference of the Hungarian Sociological Association, taking part in the roundtable discussion entitled: “The Dismantling of Local Self-Government: Centralizing Tendencies and Possible Responses of Municipalities.”

Participation at the ESA RN13 2025 Interim Meeting

Ildikó Husz and Éva Perpék participated in the ESA RN13 2025 Interim Meeting, held under the theme “Plurality of Families: Forms, Relationships, Experiences” from 10–12 September 2025 in Ankara. The meeting of ESA Research Network 13 (Sociology of Families and Intimate Lives) brought together international scholars presenting current research on the diversity of family forms and intimate relationships.
